  1. Do You Provide A Written Agreement?
    It is very important to confirm your booking in writing.
    Terms should be clearly defined to avoid future problems.
    The Great Music Company provides a written Agreement,
    which we both sign and agree to.
  2. Are You Insured?
    Be confident that the DJ Company you hire will show up for your affair!
    Insurance will give security & protection to you and your guests,
    as well as the DJ Company and there expensive gear! The
    Great Music Company has both Public Liability and Equipment Insurance.
  3. Do You Have Backup Equipment and DJ’s?
    Even professional audio equipment can fail on occasion, don’t let
    this put an early end to your affair. Make sure there is backup equipment
    and be sure there is a back-up DJ should an emergency or case of illness
    occur.The Great Music Company has backup
    equipment and DJ/hosts on stand by as part of the price.
  4. Is Your Equipment of Professional Quality?
    There is a difference between home audio and professional road-worthy
    equipment. The equipment a DJ Company uses should be built to go on
    the road each and every day! The Great Music
    Company only uses Industry Standard equipment.
  5. Will You Listen To My Music Suggestions?
    Many DJ’s are of the opinion that they know what music is best for
    their audience and won’t take requests. The DJ should listen to requests
    and play them whenever appropriate. The Great
    Music Company prefers to play what you choose. You may even want to
    request certain songs NOT to be played, it’s your event and we are
    here to accommodate in any way we can.
  6. Will You Dress Appropriately at My Affair?
    It is important that your entertainer look the part by dressing formal
    tux or semi-formal, according to your preference. Theme events and
    picnics require different attire. The Great
    Music Company will dress according to your needs, as part of the price.
  7. Will You Play The Music At An Appropriate Level?
    The biggest concern voiced by prospective clients is the volume level
    of the music. A professional DJ knows to keep the volume at a level
    appropriate for the guests, especially during cocktails and the dinner
    hour. The Great Music Company will play the
    music at what ever level you like, remembering your guests of all
    ages.
  8. Do You Do More Than Just Play Music at the Affair?
    Most affairs involve more than playing music. It is important to have
    a DJ who is capable of playing the music, handling all of the announcements
    and helps to coordinate the affair. The DJ Company should meet in
    person to go over all the details of your affair. The
    Great Music Company can be involved to what ever level you want. We
    can meet at YOUR convenience at the location of the event or at our
    office.
  9. Will You Listen to My Concerns and Input?
    A professional DJ is aware that they can’t possibly know every aspect
    of music and entertainment. Your input and suggestions should be welcome!
    The Great Music Company only listens to you,
    we will give guidance and recommendations, if needed to help you plan
    a successful event.
  10. Are you a member of any association or organization?
    Not being a member of a DJ organization does not necessarily mean
    they are not a good DJ, however these associations have been formed
    to ensure all member companies meet and exceed minimum standards in
    terms of quality and professionalism. DJ Associations are concerned
    with maintaining a high standard of quality in performance and business
    ethics in order to ensure that you, the customer, receives the best
    possible disc jockey service for your function. The
    Great Music Company are members of the American Disc Jockey Association
    and the New York State Disc Jockey Association.

It is important to find a DJ company that says yes to
the above questions. Experience & quality are the most important factors
in hiring your entertainment. Check references, ask for recommendations
from other professionals (ie photographers, videographers and venues)
